Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Yohana Susana Yembise said the importance of making a commitment to the commemoration of National Children’s Day. In front of the 2018 National Children’s Forum in Surabaya, Yohana Yembise asked them to play a role in breaking the chain of violence against children.
According to Minister Yohana, in developed countries there are no longer children who are beaten or experience violence. “I ask you to promise, if you have a family, you don’t commit violence to your children,” said Yohana while closing the 2018 National Children’s Forum in Surabaya, Sunday, July 22 2018.
Yohana said that developed countries have no more cases of violence against children because their public awareness is already high. This is because violence against children will also be severely punished. “The fine is thousands of dollars. In Indonesia there is a Child Protection Act, so no more violence against children”.
Yohana also asked the participants of the 2018 National Children’s Forum to increase their role as a pioneer and reporter in the fulfillment of children’s rights and protection. According to Yohana, children are the heirs of the nation’s leadership. Indonesia in the future belongs to children.
“When playing, play with fun and have fun with friends. However, don’t forget when studying, study diligently so you can achieve achievements,” he said.
The 2018 National Children’s Forum was attended by 516 children from 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. After the closing ceremony, the children will take part in the highlight of the 2018 National Children’s Day which will be held on Monday, 23 July 2018 at the Purwodadi Botanical Garden, Pasuruan, East Java.
