Bogor, 27 November 2025 — Yayasan Balita Sehat (FMCH Indonesia) is strengthening its commitment to early childhood wellbeing through comprehensive health and dental check-ups for more than 700 young children enrolled in 21 community pre-school (PAUD) across Bogor, South Central Timor (TTS), and Southwest Sumba (SBD).
This initiative was made possible through the generous support of the Caterpillar Foundation through CAF America, reflecting a shared mission to advance child health, education, and equity in underserved communities across Indonesia.
Health Services at the Heart of Early Learning
To address limited access to early health services in rural and low-income communities, FMCH Indonesia partnered with local Puskesmas to deliver on-site screenings covering growth, oral health, general wellbeing, and referral support. Families also received individual health reports for follow-up care.
“For many families in SBD and TTS, this was their child’s first complete health check,” said Chairwoman of FMCH Indonesia Syifa Andina in Bogor. “Parents were grateful to learn more about their child’s condition and how to take care of them at home.”
In addition to medical check-ups, FMCH Indonesia also delivered parenting education on hygiene, nutrition, and dental care.

“Many parents didn’t know how to check their child’s teeth or growth before. Now they feel more confident,” shared Ms. Nurkhikmah, a teacher of PAUD Sehat Ceria Bojonggede in Bojonggede, Thursday (November 27).
Sustained Impact Through Collaboration
FMCH Indonesia continues to strengthen early childhood development through integrated support with 47 local teachers and field staff.
As part of the collaboration, Ms. Dyah Kusumaningtyas on behalf of the Caterpillar Foundation presented a symbolic USD 21,000 donation in Bojonggede, Bogor on Thursday (November 27), to support continued child health screenings and parent education programs.
This contribution directly supports the continuation of health screenings and parent education programs, ensuring that children in both urban and rural settings receive the care and attention they need for a healthy start in life.
“Every child deserves a healthy beginning and the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Syifa Andina. “With the support of the Caterpillar Foundation and CAF America, we’re making that vision a reality one community at a time.”
