Bogor (October 29, 2026) – Strengthening the family as the primary environment for children’s growth and development involves more than meeting their educational, health, and caregiving needs. It also requires families to have the ability to manage household finances effectively. With this understanding, Early Childhood Education Center (PAUD) Sehat Ceria, under Yayasan Balita Sehat Indonesia in Bojonggede, Bogor regency, organized a Financial Literacy Training program for teachers and parents.
The training is being conducted in three sessions on October 29, November 12, and November 26, 2026. It is designed to equip teachers and parents with basic knowledge and practical skills to manage family finances wisely, systematically, and sustainably.
Through this training, participants are introduced to the fundamental principles of household financial management, including how to distinguish between needs and wants and how to prioritize expenses. Participants also learn to create simple family income and expenditure plans, develop regular saving habits, and establish emergency funds to prepare for unexpected expenses.
Beyond simply managing money, financial literacy is an essential foundation for family empowerment. Families with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively are better equipped to make sound financial decisions, meet their basic needs, and navigate various life challenges.
This is closely linked to efforts to build children’s resilience. Children need a safe, stable, and supportive family environment to grow and develop optimally. Family stability is shaped not only by caregiving practices and relationships among family members, but also by economic conditions and parents’ ability to manage available resources.
When parents are able to manage household income, prioritize family needs, develop saving habits, and prepare emergency funds, families become better equipped to withstand economic pressures. As a result, children can grow up in a more stable environment where their developmental needs are more likely to be met.
Expanding the Impact to Southwest Sumba and South Central Timor

This initiative was previously held in August–September 2026 in Southwest Sumba Regency and South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), reaching teachers and parents across 17 early childhood education centers (PAUD).
Supported by Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), we highlight the importance of integrating financial literacy into family empowerment efforts through early childhood education. Teachers and parents play strategic roles in creating an environment that supports children’s development.
Furthermore, the training is expected to serve as an initial step for parents to expand their family’s economic capacity. Household financial management skills, such as budgeting, recording income and expenses, and separating personal finances from business finances, provide an important foundation for parents who wish to develop income-generating activities or start their own businesses. In the long term, financial literacy can help families achieve greater economic independence and improve their overall well-being.
